Ramadan is here again. Alhamdulillah

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem
Ramadan is knocking on our doors! subhanAllah, this blessed month is nearly upon us again, the blessed month in which the Quran was revealed to us.  "Ramadan is the (month) in which the Quran was sent down, as a guide to mankind and a clear guidance and judgment (so that mankind will distinguish from right and wrong).." (Q 2:183)

Let's aim to complete the Quran this year in sha Allah, not like the previous year. Yes I mean it. Do you remember how you started all motivated and committed, but unfortunately with it fading away as the days went on. Just remember how much reward you get by reciting the words of Allah in this blessed month.
Abdullah ibn `Amr reported that the Messenger of Allah (saw), said: "The fast and the Qur'an are two intercessors for the servant of Allah on the Day of Resurrection. The fast will say: 'O Lord, I prevented him from his food and desires during the day. Let me intercede for him.' The Qur'an will say: 'I prevented him from sleeping at night. Let me intercede for him.' And their intercession will be accepted." [Imam Ahmad]

Ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to preserve our souls to witness the glorious month of Ramadan. Ameen
We can do this b'ithmillah

Where are my children?

Bismillahi Rahman iRaheem

Where are my children?
 - Ahmed Bukhatir.
It’s a very emotional nasheed about a father who was abandoned by his children. Every time I watch it, it brings tears to my eyes. There is English translation for anyone who doesn't understand Arabic.

Your Lord has enjoined the following: You should not worship anyone but Him Alone! Treat your parents with great kindness; if either or both of them attain old age, do not even say ‘uff’ to them; nor rebuke them; but speak to them kind words. Treat them with humility and tenderness and pray, “O our Lord, be merciful to them, just as they brought me up with kindness and affection in my childhood.” Quran 17:23-24
For all the debts in the world, the debt that can never be repaid  is the debt that we owe our parents. As a reminder to myself first, and to everyone else, remember that your mother and father, gave you love, care and most of their time to bring you up, so respect them, and shower them with your love :)
(PS: I forgot to tell you, the video at the beginning is a bit slow, go to 1:00 for the nasheed )

Islam in Hungary - Eid Al Adha

The picture above was taken in Hungary just before the Eid Prayer (Prayer for the Islamic Celebration) 2011. As you can see most of the brothers are dressed in 'Dishdasha' (men's arabic tunic). We were waitng for the other sisters and brothers to arrive so we could start the prayer. I have to say it was amazing masahAllah! Even though it was cold outside, the atmosphere felt so warm as everyone greeted each other with 'Assalamu aleikum' and 'Eid Mubarak'(blessed festival). As most of the poeple arrived we started the prayer, men praying at the front while us women at the back.

The Imam (barakAllahu fih) gave a very beneficial khuttba, and then the prayer started. After the prayer, everyone got up and greeted each other with love, it was incredible. Even though most of us didn't know each other, we still greeted each other as if we were all sisters, all equal. :) I also met Azraa, my beloved sister in Islam, even though we only met for 3 days, we became so close, as if we have been friends for 10 years, MasahAllah.

There were sisters from all over the world, Pakistan, Mauritius, Kenya, Nigeria, Somaliya, Hungary, Saudi Arabia etc. Alhamdullah. And then we decided to go to a sister's house for dinner to continue the celebration. It was an unforgetable Eid. Alhamdullilah. May Allah keep us together and fill us with love and happiness. Ameen

I have to mention again that it was amazing how we we all loved each other (for the sake of Allah) even though we were all from different countries, as the prophet (peace be upon him) said:

"There is no superiority for an Arab over a non-Arab, nor for a non-Arab over an Arab. Neither is the white superior over the black, nor is the black superior over the white -- except by piety"

''So Remember Me, I will Remember You ''

Assalamu aleikum to you!
A reminder to all of us, please don not be sad, because He knows and listens!

“Remember Me, I Will Remember You” Quran 2:152
Sometimes we wonder why feel sad, we cannot figure out why we are often so bothered and disturbed and feel like giving up. Did it ever cross our minds that maybe we need to have a look at our hearts?
The Prophet ﷺ (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do not talk too much without remembering and mentioning Allah, for too much talk without mentioning Allah hardens the heart, and the person farthest from Allah is the one with a hard heart.”
Remember that Allah SWT is always there for you, so if you feel sad just call out to him, call out his name. If you still feel sad, open the Noble Quran and read the Words of Allah SWT. And if you still feel sad, bow your head down in prayer and let all your emotions out, he will always listen to you.
